The Programme Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) framework is a quality assurance model for higher education introduced by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Pakistan that evaluates academic programs through structured self-assessments to promote continuous improvement in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The framework provides a systematic process for assessing programme performance against established quality standards, ensuring that academic offerings remain relevant, effective, and aligned with institutional objectives and stakeholder expectations.
By reviewing programme objectives, curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment, resources, governance, and student outcomes, PREE helps institutions identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based enhancement plans. At NED University, the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) leads the coordination and implementation of the PREE process in line with HEC quality assurance standards.
