NED University of Engineering and Technology has been striving to achieve and maintain the highest standards of quality education and research since its establishment in March 1977. In this journey, it has achieved several milestones. In the year 2002, it was certified by the Llyod’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) for conforming to the ISO 9001: 2000 Standards. In 2008, it became the member of Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN). In 2011, the University established the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) with assistance and cooperation from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The University became the Member of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAHE) in 2018 and of the Talloires Network in 2014.
In August 2017, the University became the first engineering university of Pakistan to be conforming to ISO 9001: 2015 Standards by the LRQA after a successful certification audit. The QEC has recently been awarded the membership of Executive Committee of the Pakistan Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PNQAHE). The QEC is successfully complying with the QAA-HEC requirements particularly the Self- Assessment of all programmes, the Review of Masters/PhD programmes together with NOC of all such programmes started after November 2013 onwards and conduct of the Institutional Performance Review (IPE) visit by the HEC Review Panel. The NED University has also got established the QECs in all of its affiliated colleges. All University undergraduate programmes are either accredited by the respective accreditation councils or the accreditation process is in final stages.
All the above millstones have been achieved by the involvement of all Faculty, Officers and staff and commitment as well as support of University and Departmental Leaderships. I hope more achievements to come in future.
